Hope Has a Name: Welcoming the First Forever 'Ohana Retreat Recipient to Oahu
Some moments in life remind us why we do what we do—and this is one of them.
We are beyond honored to announce the first annual Forever ‘Ohana Retreat in partnership
with the Forever Nate Foundation and 2 Walk on Water. This special retreat, set against the
healing waters of Oahu, is dedicated to children and families who have faced the unthinkable
with courage, faith, and resilience. And this year, we are thrilled to welcome Jessica and her
amazing mother as the first recipients.

Jessica's story is nothing short of miraculous. At just eight years old, she was diagnosed with
glioblastoma (GBM)—an aggressive brain tumor with a grim prognosis. Doctors gave her a
year to live. But Jessica had other plans. She not only survived—she thrived. At 14, she was
faced with yet another challenge—a second, different kind of brain tumor. While that one was
eventually removed and proved benign, it was followed by a devastating stroke just days after
surgery. And as if that wasn’t enough, Jessica was diagnosed with ovarian cancer during her
senior year of high school. Still, she pressed on—with grit, grace, and a warrior’s heart.
Today, Jessica continues to face her journey with bravery, recently undergoing another brain
scan for a spot that raised concern. Her story is not defined by her battles, but by her
unbreakable spirit. She stands tall—not only in stature—but in strength, resilience, and hope.
We cannot wait to welcome Jessica and her mom to the shores of Oahu, where the ocean’s
embrace, the island’s warmth, and our community’s love will surround them. Through the
Forever ‘Ohana Retreat, we aim to offer not just rest, but restoration… not just escape, but
empowerment. This retreat is a celebration of life, legacy, and the healing power of water and
connection.
Mahalo to the Forever Nate Foundation for believing in this vision, and to all those who make
moments like these possible. Together, we are not only honoring incredible stories—we are
writing new ones filled with hope, joy, and aloha.
